Additional Details

  • Wild-caught Yellowfin Tuna provides a mild, meaty texture.

  • Yellowfin Tuna is commonly known as Ahi Tuna which boasts sushi-grade quality – perfect for sashimi and poké.

  • The average serving size of Yellowfin Tuna is one 6 oz fillet.

  • Each order is packed with dry ice so that it stays completely frozen while en route to your doorstep.

How To Prepare

  • To thaw, remove the fillet from its original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and thaw it in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours.

  • To expedite the thawing process, place the fish in a plastic bag and run it under cool water (never hot water). Learn more safe thawing tips here.

  • Tuna can be cooked on the stovetop, baked, or grilled depending on your desired method. Aim for an internal temperature of 125° F for medium, and 145° for well done. Or, serve your tuna raw in sushi, sashimi, or a poké bowl - here's our favorite recipe.

  • Note: Consuming raw or undercooked seafood may increase your risk of foodborne illness.

What is the flavor profile of Wild Yellowfin Tuna?

Yellowfin Tuna boasts a sweet, mild flavor and a firm, meaty bite.

“Ahi” is a Hawaiian term that references two species of tuna: Yellowfin and Bigeye.

What’s the best way to cook Yellowfin Tuna?

Our favorite way to prepare Yellowfin Tuna is by pan-searing or grilling. If cooking on the stove top, get a cast iron skillet extremely hot, cover your tuna steak in sesame seeds, and sear each side for one to two minutes. (More or less time, depending on your desired doneness.)

How long can I keep my Tuna in the freezer?

All of our products will stay good in the freezer for several months. However, for the best taste and texture, we recommend enjoying them within 2-3 months.
