Ingredients 

Halibut:
  • 4 Halibut fillets (6 oz each)
  • Kosher salt
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Olive oil

Browned Butter Caper Sauce:

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp capers, drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Optional: pinch red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Pat Halibut dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Sear Halibut 3–4 minutes per side until golden and just cooked through. Remove and tent loosely with foil.
  • In the same skillet, lower heat to medium. Add butter and cook until melted, foamy, and lightly browned with a nutty aroma.
  • Add garlic and capers; sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in lemon zest, lemon juice, parsley, and red pepper flakes if using.
  • Spoon browned butter caper sauce over Halibut and serve immediately.
