FAQs

FAQs

How do I use cedar grilling planks?
+
-

Soak the planks in water for at least 1 hour before grilling. Place the soaked plank on a preheated grill for a few minutes until it begins to lightly smoke, then lay your seasoned food directly on top. Close the lid and grill as usual. The plank will gently infuse your dish with a rich, smoky flavor.

What types of food can I cook on cedar planks?
+
-

Cedar planks are perfect for salmon and other fish, but they’re also great for shrimp, scallops, chicken, pork, beef, tofu, and vegetables. The natural cedar smoke enhances the flavor of both delicate and hearty ingredients.

Can I reuse cedar planks?
+
-

Planks can sometimes be reused if they remain mostly intact and aren’t overly charred. After grilling, rinse the plank with warm water (no soap) and let it dry completely. However, for the best flavor and food safety, most people prefer to use a fresh plank each time.

Can I use cedar planks in the oven?
+
-

Yes! Cedar planks work beautifully in the oven. Place the soaked plank on a baking sheet and cook as you would on the grill.  You’ll still get that subtle, aromatic cedar flavor.
