Additional Details

  • Wild-caught Black Cod, or Sablefish, provides a light, oil-rich flavor, which earns it the nickname "Butter Fish."

  • Black Cod is a mild, white flaky fish that is packed with omega-3 fatty acids.

  • The average serving size of Black Cod is one 7 oz fillet.

  • Each order is packed with dry ice so that it stays completely frozen while en route to your doorstep.

How To Prepare

  • To thaw, remove the fillet from its original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and thaw it in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours.

  • To expedite the thawing process, place the fish in a plastic bag and run it under cool water (never hot water). Learn more safe thawing tips here.

  • Black Cod can be cooked on the stovetop, baked, or grilled depending on your desired method. Aim for an internal temperature of 125° F for medium, and 145° for well done. Learn our favorite recipe here.
