How To Prepare

  • To thaw, remove the mussels from the original packaging, place them in a plastic bag or on a covered tray, and thaw them in the refrigerator for 5-8 hours.

  • To expedite the thawing process, place the mussels in a plastic bag and run them under cool water (never hot water.) Learn more safe thawing tips here.

  • Once thawed, cook the mussels using your desired method and until heated through.

When they are harvested, mussels are surrounded by two shells. During processing the top shell is removed leaving only the bottom shell, which the mussel itself is attached to. This makes for easy preparation and beautiful presentation.

How long can I keep my Mussels in the freezer?
